Patrice Covington has been seen all over the globe, belting tunes with all-star Broadway casts of smash hit shows and with her own original music. She plays the role of Squeak in The Color Purple Revival and co-stars with super star talents Jennifer Hudson, Heather Headley and Danielle Brooks. She and her cast mates of The Color Purple recently became Tony Award Winners for the category Best Revival of a Musical. Patrice has also shined in Berry Gordy’s Broadway show Motown The Musical in the role Martha Reeve’s. She often mentions that her favorite show performances include performing alongside American Idol’s Ruben Studdard in the National Tour of Ain’t Misbahvin’.

This all-star Ain’t Misbehavin 5 member cast was Grammy nominated for their Broadway cast recording of Ain’t Misbehavin. Patrice has also been seen as Effie in the Broadway National Tour of Dreamgirls, and was a part of the Tony Award winning
show, The Book of Mormon. Her dynamic presence as been seen on stages in the Bahamas, Japan, France, Turkey, and Germany. Patrice was a part of Switzerland’s renowned SEAT Music Session where she toured for six weeks performing her original music. It was a special honor especially because she was the only artist from the USA.

Patrice debuted an EP produced by actor and singer Chaz Shepherd. Her music can be heard while you’re swiping your credit card in many favorite retail stores and while you wine and dine in restaurants nationwide. Her music is also featured on web-series such as Tony Clomax’s 12 Steps to Recovery and the theme song to Robert Hartwell’s Broadway Quick Change. Her single “Life Feels Good Right Now” and music video can be seen and heard nationally on several major cable networks including Centric and Magic Johnson’s Aspire TV. Patrice is also the voice featured in numerous national radio voiceovers including McDonald’s “There’s always something new to love at McDonald’s” campaign.

With a sufficient and successful history in pageantry, Patrice, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be producing and directing a scholarship pageant benefiting young African American women in her hometown Norfolk, Virginia.
